This was the final page of the Stan Lee memoir, and the very last page I colored. At this point, I'd been up for 37 straight hours, and it was a battle to get through; I enlisted a friend to sit with me and keep me awake while I worked.
This page was turned into a poster and distributed at New York Comic Con as a teaser for the book.
For some reason, Sony wasn't letting use the original movie poster art, so this had to be done from scratch.
Yes, Fabio makes an appearance in the memoir. The script called for him to be colored photorealistically, as if he stepped off a romance novel cover, so I used a style for him that was a compromise between the smoother, flatter look of the rest of the book, and realism.
Also, I had to tone down the tightness of his leather pants, because it's a family show.
This page was a ton of fun to color; getting to do more realistic work for the film on the screen was great fun.
