air conditioning and other bonuses

in the spirit of trying to get motivated at 4:30 in the afternoon, during the lull when no one ever likes their job, and starts idly wondering if perhaps yak farming in tibet isn't a better life path -- i'll list some of the other ones.... museums that i keep forgetting to go to see the cool exhibits at, and instead only remember their existence when there's something really lame showing.... and as if that weren't enough (and don't you kinda wish it were?): soon, there will be a constant stream of busy and nervous freshmen, all trying very hard to impress each other with how cool and sophisticated they are.

new office layout

my back started hurting a couple of days ago. after resting it last night, it seemed fine this morning, so i went into work. drove my car without a problem, but when i got into slushbucket, that changed 15 miles into the commute.... so now i'm laying on my office floor, with the keyboard and mouse down here.

i missed the vanpool this morning by one minute, so i had to drive in. traffic wasn't bad, but my routine's been thrown off, and now i'm all unsettled. :P after two days of drawing and painting this weekend, i wish i could do nothing but that, all the time.

comic-con's gates of fire

the art director from wizards of the coast that i saw was very complimentary and said she liked my work a lot, and could definitely use me for some work. she wanted to see more fantastical stuff from me, to prove i could do beasts and whatnot, so i'm going to do some of those and send them in. unlike past years with WotC, i think that this time, she was serious about it.... there, i run into someone i knew from chapman, and so he and i play Old Home Week, catching up on how things at the alma mater are going, how the people we both know are doing.
